Visiting the city in the summer usually wouldn't have been one of her better ideas. It was just as warm anywhere else, and happened to mean hurricane season. Nothing particularly large seemed to be threatening to strike, but even the healthy degree of paranoia she liked to keep was beginning to make her uneasy.
Corinne supposed it helped that she was in a building, even if it was a crowded mall. The noise level wasn't high enough to border on obnoxious, but finding her way around was getting more and more difficult- an issue that became more pertinent when she started getting hungry. Looking past the stores around her, she scanned for a place to stop. Clothes, clothes... ugh, I'm in the wrong wing." She decided to speed her walk.

" Another day, another sale." Amelia said as she walked out of the fourth shop of the day. As she began to head for the next venture, she spotted a blonde haired woman, a lost look on her face.Amelia couldn't help but let a small laugh escape as she looked at the young woman, a look of confusion on her face, counting the many times she had donned the same look when coming to a new place. Deciding to cash in on her good deed for the day, she tightened her grip on her own bags and caught up to the girl as she sped off in an unknown direction.
" Hey! Are you looking for somewhere in particular?" She asked when she was finally next to the girl." I know the mall pretty much as well as the back of my hand." She added with a smile.

Corinne turned the minute she heard a voice. She was never one to ignore a passerby- especially when she could have used a helping hand. "I am!" She admitted excitedly, greeting a red-haired woman with piercing eyes. "Would you... happen to know where I can find something to eat? This place is like a labyrinth." She sighed quietly.
"And thanks, by the way," she added warmly. "It's rare enough to get help from relatives nowadays, let alone anyone else." She was tempted to introduce herself immediately afterward, but held back for a moment. Too many people in earshot. I can wait a while longer.

Amelia smiled at the blonde's excited answer, and nodded. " Yeah, sure." She said adjusting the bags she held. " It's kind of set off to the back of the mall, for some reason. I don't know why they didn't just keep it in the center like most malls." she added thoughtfully." I was actually planning on going there, after a few more stores, but I think a meal would be a good idea right about now." She said as her stomach growled softly.
Amelia waved off the thanks nonchalantly." Oh it's no trouble at all, really." She said as she led the girl to the food court." I remember the first time I got to this mall, I had the exact same look on my face, but I didn't have anyone to help me." she said with a shrug.

"Again, really, thank you," she stressed. "You were a godsend, really." Her smile remained, but after they had hit the food court, it became somewhat more relaxed. What she had mentioned about not receiving any help herself did disappoint her a little; the woman had been such a help, but not everyone's life could be perfect.
Before she lunged for the nearest table, she decided it would be easier to get the woman's name first. "Before I forget, I'm Corinne." She extended a hand, despite the somewhat late introduction. "Nice to meet you." She quickly surveyed the court around her, trying to make a split-second decision on where to go when she realized she should probably leave it to her new friend. "Also," she flourished he wallet, "your next meal will be on me, alright?"

" Oh, well I don't know about that." Amelia said shaking her head. " I was just in the right place at the right time." she added as she watched the girl. She was a bit curious, at least her mannerism were.'she seems really preoccupied with something.....' She shook her head, deciding to give the girl a chance. ' Probably just looking out for someone." she said to herself, bringing her mind back from it's revelry.
Amelia grasped the blonde's hand, giving a it a shake before releasing it. " Oh? Cute name." She said with a smile. " I've never heard it around here before." She added, making sure she kept the name firmly planted in her memory. " It's nice to meet you. I'm Amelia." she said smiling at the girl. She was a breath of fresh air, that much she knew. She seemed very nice right off the bat without trying to be, which was always a good quality.
Amelia blinked, and shook her head at the other's offer. " Oh no, I couldn't." She said quickly. "Really, there's no need to. I meant to come here sooner or later so I have my own money. Just take it as a favor."

"It's nice to meet you, too." Her mind rolled into another thought about the last part of what Amelia said to her. Around here? Oh, right. She must have been talking to a local. "Really? I like Amelia better. It's classic- easier to remember," she mused. "I'm not surprised that this is your first time hearing it, though- I'm actually not from around here in the first place."
If Amelia had politely declined her offer, she was in no position to force it on her. Corinne usually had at least enough money in her pockets to function, but more was always a big help. In hindsight, she did wish she could do more for Amelia after she was so quick to help her find the food court, but it could wait. "A favor, then," Corinne agreed. "I'll just have to return it one day, then." She smiled confidently.
"Are you in the mood for anything in particular, by the way?"

At the compliment, Amelia scoffed slightly. " Thanks but my name is anything but 'classic'." She said shaking her head. " I am the fourth 'Amelia' on my mother's side." She said with a small grin. " My great great great great great great grandmother thought it was a sign. Every redhead girl born was named 'Amelia'." She said with a smirk. " I am the only 'King' though. My father had only brothers, and their kids were all boys so I'm the only female 'king', by birth anyway." she added.
She smiled at Corinne, and shrugged. " Well if you're that determined to return the favor, I suppose one day I'll get myself lost and you can find me too." she said jokingly. She honestly didn't mind helping the other girl, as she had said before, she was in her place. But it was nice that Corinne wanted to compensate her still.
At the question, Amelia looked around at the various cuisine choices the food court held. " I honestly just want a big burger and some french fries." She said in all honesty. " I've been eating a lot of French food, and as good as it sounds, I kind of miss the simpler things." she said in a sheepish tone. " Is there anything you had in mind?" she asked.

That’s five greats, she made a point to think to herself as she counted along. “So you know your lineage,” she reiterated. “And that far back- that’s pretty impressive… but they didn’t give all those boys the same name because of their hair colors, did they?” She gritted her teeth. Four Michaels in one house couldn’t have been healthy, especially not if they were all within two years of one another.
She shrugged back jokingly. “Fine by me,” she agreed. “Just don’t go getting lost on purpose. I don’t think you will, but,” she paused. “I’ve met some… interesting people while traveling,” she euphemized. “I wouldn’t put a stunt like that past a few of them, so I don’t like saying there’s such thing as too careful.”
“French food?” She smiled. “Have you been traveling, then? Either way, I know what you mean; it’s easy to miss certain foods when you’ve been away from them for long.” Especially in a place like France, she thought to add. “Anyway, I usually just gravitate toward meat in general when I’m hungry. I think I’ll just go ahead and join you.”
