“And my parents gave me diamond studs to wear to school, but I wasn’t as narcissistic as you.” Amelia said with a grin. Her parents weren’t near as wealthy as Nathan’s, but they were well off, and they showered her and her brother with gifts as often as they could. That didn’t mean however, that Amelia didn’t know the value of things. Said diamond studs are still in her possession, along with other jewelry and items that her parents paid a pretty penny for. Amelia couldn’t count how many pairs of designer jeans that Nathan had destroyed from his random stunts, and she could never really remember his parents scolding him before buying more. “There is a different between having confidence and being arrogant and you, sir, have hopped back and forth over that line many times…but for some reason I still love you.” Amelia said, shaking her head and pretending to find something wrong in the fact that she cared a lot about blue eyed male.
Amelia smiled at him slightly as he admitted his awkwardness with emotional situations. “Well since I plan on being the only crying girl you have to deal with, I’ll let you in on a secret.” She said. “If I’m ever crying, the only thing you’ll have to do is just hold me for a while and I’ll be fine.” She said with a smile. Sometimes all a person needs is a hug.” Amelia remembered her father telling her this once when her mother came home after a bad day. Her eyeliner stained her cheeks when she entered the house, and her father, who was working on a side table, dropped his tools and enveloped her in his arms. “Just knowing you have someone there for you is a lot better than a few cliché words.
Amelia simply looked at him for a moment, murmuring something about sadism under her breath as she took out a perfectly circular pancake. She poured another into the pan, letting it cook before turning to him, waving the spatula as she spoke. “If you want any of this deliciousness I’m making, you’d be wise to keep your teeth to yourself whilst I cook and stop marking me as your territory.” She added, raising an eyebrow before turning back to the pancake, flipping it. In truth, she really didn’t mind the biting, but the sneak attack was what always caused her to freak out. If she was expecting something, Amelia was actually good at being calm, but who would be expecting someone to bite them? Amelia shrugged to herself as she took out another pancake, this one slightly oval, but none the less cooked to perfection.
Amelia gave him a rueful smile, standing on her own, away from the counter. “Guess I’m not as fast as I used to be.” She said trying to make light of the situation. In truth, she was at her top speed; but that fact didn’t stop the beastly form that leaving a mark on her. Had she of slowed down once, it would have been worse. “You weren’t in your right mind at the time.” Amelia said quickly when Nathan trailed off in his question.” But I’m fine; it’s just a few scratches.” She added quickly, trying to take some of the blame that he knew he would place on himself. “I just put too much pressure on it, that’s all. A bandage or two and I’ll be good as new.” She added, the pain ebbing out into a minor throb in her side. Amelia watched Nathan’s face for a moment for any signs of uncertainty, knowing that her plans for having a semi peaceful breakfast were probably shot. “This really isn’t going to be very polite breakfast conversation, so we might as well get it out of the way.” She said with a sigh.

“What can I say? I’m very egoistic. And even back in high school, I was the jock boy who had a thing for the girls jumping around in little outfits. That, and I cheated on nearly every test.” He said laughing and turning around knowing something was missing. He definitely knew what it was, he needed music. Nathan was the kind of guy that didn’t like when there wasn’t some kind of background music to get him going. And it tended to wake you up better in the morning and get you into a good mood. And Nathan did like to sing along to songs and force people to dance with him, so he couldn’t see anything wrong with that. “Just be lucky that I’m not all down on myself and lack self confidence. And oh! I love you too.” He smiled, surprisingly in a good mood. But, he had gotten too deep into the conversation now that they started talking again to venture off and put some music on.
But Nathan was feeling different today, a little more happy and powerful then normal. And he just didn’t even want Amelia to leave tonight either. No, he just wouldn’t let her leave. Maybe he would even try at getting her step out of her comfort zone and try being all close and passionate with her without her bolting off of him and running off. Maybe she was just scared to mess up and didn’t want to be judged? But she said she could have hurt him or something? Nathan shook the thoughts out of his head and looked back over at Amelia. He was convinced that no man could look upon her face and not think that she was gorgeous. Though this was made into about a dozen pick up lines, she really did have the face of an angel. And Nathan was even convinced that countless girls thought that as well. “Well I plan on holding you whether you’re having a bad day or not.” He said going against her words on not touching her because she was making breakfast. He slid his fingers up and under her shirt and stood close enough leave a trail of kisses up her neck. His lips curled up into a large smile against her cheek and he breaths were warm against her skin. “Want me to back off yet?” He asked, rubbing his fingers over her ribs. “and you’re already marked as my territory whether you like it or not.” He teased. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
It was the whole shocking factor of it all. At one moment he was being all flirty with Amelia and trying things out that he hadn’t ever tried, and the next she was bent over in pain with scratching marks on her side. Nathan had thought it to be a dream, being something and losing every sense of humanity. Was there something else that he just couldn’t figure out. What exactly happened? And how is any of this even possible? “Not as fast? That.. Wasn’t actually real. This isn’t real? No, this is a dream.” He said, widening his eyes and stepping back away from Amelia. Monsters weren’t real, and whatever happened last night was all part of his dream. “Come on Nathan, get your ass out of bed buddy.” He spoke to himself, looking around to see if anything really seemed dream-like. Nope, everything was more real than ever, and he could smell the food that was cooking. In a dream he wouldn’t have smelt the food and he wouldn’t have felt the warmth of Amelia’s skin against his hands. “This isn’t a dream… Amelia this isn’t okay. What.. What is going on? I never meant to hurt you. I-I would never mean to hurt you.” He said, his eyebrows curving up and his head shaking as her while he tried to talk things through to himself. “Can we please? I am so sorry. Whatever happened can never happen again. I could have done much worse then those scratched.” He said, feeling his heart begin to pulse quicker. “And wait? What did happen? I remember the pain obviously. It hurt so much I was sick to my stomach and my face drenched from tears. But then I just remember being uncontrollable.” He rambled on to himself. “Is that why I woke up-…” He paused, remembering his clothes had been absent in the morning. Nathan had watched quite a few movies in his days. Yellow eyes, claws, bones shifting? Could it even be possible? A man turning into a large, fast, frightening yet beautiful wolf? The world would never be the same to him again.

Amelia rolled her eyes.” I still wonder how we became friends after all that.” She said with a small smirk. In all honesty, Nathan was, in the beginning, one of ‘those’ guys, the ones that she preferred not to give the time of day. Back then, he was the typical high school jock and Amelia was well… Amelia. “I have to admit though, even when you were a complete jerk, you always were nice to look at.” She said with a wink.
She gave Nathan a smile, watching him for a few moments. He was happy, that was for sure, and even though she didn’t know the exact cause, she was glad. She never liked to see him down in the dumps, especially if there was anything she could do about it. It was somewhat painful for her to see him without a smile on his face and she often caught herself wishing that it was never possible, but today didn’t seem like it would turn that way, at least not for a while. A soft giggle escaped her lips when he spoke, and again as he fingers trailed across her skin. “Well I suppose if you’re going to keep forcing your affections on me, I might as well enjoy it.” She said with a smirk, leaning back against him slightly. _________________________________________ _________________________________________ “Nathan, as much as I wish it were possible to just go back to normal, it’s not that easy.” She said softly. Amelia couldn’t completely grasp what Nathan was going through, though she could imagine. The only thing she could do for him at the moment was just be honest with him, and try to reassure him, though she didn’t know what exactly she was going to say to him. Amelia bit her lip anxiously, not knowing where to start. The range of expressions on his face went back and forth between confusion and fear, a spare glance in her direction every few minutes.
Amelia placed her hands on either side of Nathan’s face, keeping her eyes trained on his as she spoke. “I know you Nathan… I know you didn’t try to hurt me.” She said softly, moving her thumbs over his jawline lightly.” And I know you don’t want to believe it but it wasn’t a dream.” She said softly.” Last night….you….changed…and I know you don’t want to, but it’s going to happen again.” Amelia finished. She herself didn’t want to believe it, but whether she did or didn’t, she knew it was not a choice, and that if Nathan was going to make it through the drastic alternations in his future, he was going to have to get used to the idea, no matter how unbelievable it was.
Amelia nodded to Nathan’s question as he drifted off.” There are probably a few shreds of fabric around here somewhere, but that’s about it.” She said with a slight shrug of her shoulders as she spoke. “I don’t really know what all happened after you.... scratched me, but I don’t think you got outside.” She added, turning around to turn off the stove. “I didn’t really know what to do? I mean…who would?” she said simply. Amelia wrapped her arms around herself, a shiver passing through her frame, but not from cold. The memory of last night was still vivid. “I was more scared of what would happen to you if you did.” She added honestly.” You know how rednecks and their guns are.” She said with a slight shrug.
